Panchayat Season 4 trailer breaks YouTube record with 45 million views in 24 hours

Amazon Prime Video's rural comedy-drama returns with Abhishek Tripathi now a confirmed IAS officer — but still stuck in Phulera. Release date: April 12.

The trailer for the fourth season of Amazon Prime Video’s Panchayat has broken the Indian streaming record for most views in 24 hours, accumulating 45 million YouTube views since its release on Sunday evening — surpassing the previous record held by the Jawan trailer.

The two-minute trailer, soundtracked by a new version of the show’s beloved title theme, picks up with Abhishek Tripathi — played by Jitendra Kumar — having cleared the IAS examination but finding himself assigned back to Phulera as a probationary officer. Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, and Faisal Malik all return.

The show’s creators have described Season 4 as “the most ambitious yet”, with a storyline involving a state election that engulfs the village and forces Abhishek to choose between his bureaucratic neutrality and his loyalty to the Phulera community he has come to love.

Panchayat has been one of India’s most consistently well-received streaming shows since its debut in 2020, praised for its gentle humour, authentic portrayal of rural government, and ensemble performances. Season 3 won six OTT awards including Best Series.
